Take Stage was created by a team of performers, producers, and technologists who’ve spent their lives in rehearsal rooms and recording studios (and code). We know the frustration of wanting to capture a moment — and the magic that happens when you finally get it right.

We’ve taught students, collaborated in bands, and guided hundreds of artists through recording sessions.
Our produced recordings have secured spots in top colleges and world-renowned festivals and competitions, helping to open doors to admissions, scholarships, and opportunities for hundreds of aspiring musicians.
We’ve created custom software and scalable tools for creators at all levels.

The Problem We Saw

Our leadership team brings together diverse expertise from the worlds of design, technology, and product development. Together, we drive our mission to make digital creation accessible to all.

Sasha Popov

Founder

Sasha is a musician, software engineer, and creative entrepreneur whose career spans classical performance, live video, and streaming technology. A graduate of The Juilliard School, he performed internationally and earned awards including the Mravinsky International Competition and LA Spotlight Awards.

In New York City, he built expertise in live streaming and production, contributing to events and collaborations for organizations such as Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Martha Graham Dance Company. He later transitioned to tech, specializing in live video engineering at Activision Blizzard, then at Twitch—where he developed ingestion systems, built engineering teams, and supported large-scale online broadcasts and events for major publishers.

Currently at AWS, he leads customer engineering initiatives for live video, with a focus on AI-driven tools and analytics to ensure high-quality delivery.
Inspired by his own journey in the performing arts, Sasha founded TakeStage—a platform that helps young artists create professional audition recordings for top conservatories, schools, and festivals, while providing teachers with tools for remote guidance and collaboration. His work bridges creative education and technology to foster the next generation of artists.

David Morgan

Design Director

David Morgan is a designer, developer, and creative entrepreneur with over a decade of experience building products at the intersection of design and technology. He is the founder of multiple successful digital and e-commerce businesses, including Organic Themes, Swell Scenes, Spookees, and several WordPress and Shopify apps focused on automation, content, and creative tools. With a background spanning web design, front-end development, generative art, and product strategy, David specializes in turning ideas into scalable, design-driven platforms.
