Welcome to TakeStage, a live collaborative remote recording studio application available on iOS and Web platforms. This privacy policy outlines how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our services. By using TakeStage, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

  • Device Information: We collect information from your device, including IP address, device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers to improve your experience and troubleshoot issues.

  • Content Data: When using the app to record collaborative sessions, we collect and store video and audio recordings, including metadata like the time, location, and participants involved in each session.

  • Content Storage & Sharing: Recordings created during sessions are stored locally on your device and uploaded to cloud storage (such as AWS S3) for further editing, distribution, and sharing via the TakeStage platform.
  • Security & Fraud Prevention: We use your device and usage data to detect potential security threats and unauthorized access to protect accounts and content.
  1. Cloud Storage and Content Uploads
    TakeStage records video and audio streams locally on your device, even if there are interruptions in your internet connection. Once your session ends, the recordings are automatically uploaded to the cloud when connectivity is restored. These recordings are stored on our cloud servers, accessible only to you, your collaborators, and anyone you choose to share the content with.
  2. Data Retention
  • User Metadata Information: We retain metadata related to your use of the platform (such as usernames, email addresses, content timestamps, stage names, and user-sharing information) for as long as necessary to provide services to you or as required for legal and business purposes. This includes compliance with applicable laws, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and the enforcement of our policies. Upon user request for data deletion, we will anonymize or remove personal information except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
  • Video/Audio Content: For free accounts, TakeStage retains recorded video and audio content for 30 days after the session, after which the content is permanently deleted from our servers unless otherwise specified by the user. For subscribed users, content is stored for the duration of the subscription, and users have control over the deletion or continued retention of their recordings. Upon cancellation or expiration of a subscription, content will remain accessible for 30 days, after which it will be automatically deleted unless users take action.

    We implement a variety of security measures to protect your personal information and recordings, including encryption during transmission and storage. Only authorized personnel have access to your data, and we regularly review our security protocols to protect against unauthorized access.
  2. Marketing and Analytics
  • Marketing: With your consent, we may use your email address or other contact information to send you promotional materials about TakeStage’s services, updates, and features. You can opt out of these communications by following the unsubscribe instructions in the emails.

However, we are not responsible for the content generated, shared, or stored during these sessions. All users are solely responsible for ensuring that their content complies with applicable laws and does not infringe upon the rights of others. TakeStage does not monitor or verify user-generated content, and any liability for the content, including legal or regulatory consequences, rests entirely with the user.
    TakeStage reserves the right to remove any content that violates our policies or legal obligations, but this does not create an obligation to review or moderate user-generated content.
  2. Your Control Over Your Data
  • Access and Manage Data: You can view, download, and manage your recordings directly through the TakeStage platform. You also have control over who you share your content with.
  • Deletion Requests: You may request the deletion of your personal information or recordings at any time. Upon receiving such a request, we will remove your data from our servers, subject to any legal obligations.
  • Account Termination: If you terminate your account, we will delete your personal information and content within 30 days of the request.

    We may disclose your personal information as required by law, such as in response to legal processes like subpoenas, court orders, or regulatory requests. Additionally, we may share your data when we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action against illegal activities, suspected fraud, threats to the safety of any person, or violations of our Terms of Service.
